Shack Spirits started as something I draw when I'm on the train and just let my mind go. I don't plan anything at all. I just let the pen move and see what comes out. By the time it's my stop, I usually end up with something pretty weird. They always look like astral little creatures or some kind of odd tribal entities. It’s just a creative exercise I do during commutes, and the series is basically the result of letting my brain wander and my hand follow.
Shack Spirits is a digital illustration series created entirely in Procreate, continuing the prior project of Tiki Spirits. Each piece begins as a spontaneous drawing exercise, using symmetry tools and fluid, continuous linework to explore subconscious form. There is no predetermined concept; instead, the drawings evolve naturally through intuitive mark-making. The outcome is a collection of strange, abstract, creature-like figures that sit somewhere between tribal symbolism and surreal character design
