24 Frame Animated GIF Series
Self Directed
This project breaks down the human form into 24 frames, resulting in two GIFs: one based on studio-filmed footage and the other an abstract interpretation. The original was edited frame-by-frame in Lightroom, while the abstract version was created using Womp to 3D render and record fluid motion
⤷ Behind the Scenes:
Shis project explores human movement by breaking a single action into twenty-four frames and turning them into two separate GIFs. The first version was built from studio footage that I filmed and then edited frame by frame in Lightroom to study the body through lighting, shape and repetition. The second version is an abstract take created in Womp, where I used 3D rendering and fluid motion tools to push the idea into something more alien and sculptural.
The project was influenced by digital sculptors and motion designers like Henque NL and Joe Street, whose work plays with morphing forms, heavy lighting and surreal motion. I wanted to experiment with that language to transform a simple movement into something unfamiliar. The inflatable suit I used for the filmed sequence helped exaggerate the figure and gave me more to work with when interpreting the motion in 3D.
Loop became my introduction to basic animation and early 3D experimentation. Working frame by frame and then translating the same motion into a rendered object helped me understand how far an idea can stretch once you take it out of reality. The two GIFs work as a pair: one grounded and literal, the other fluid and abstract, both reflecting different ways of reading the same movement.
